  • Mix confection sugar with milk or water to thick consistency

Instructions

  • Combine water and starter, mix to a "milky" consistency
  • Add butter, Sugar, Salt, and egg. Gently mix together.
  • Slowly add in flour and combine. Once combined cover with towel and let sit for 4 hours.
  • *Once its been about the 4 hour mark make the filling by combining brown sugar, cinnamon and white sugar.*
  • Lightly flour surface to make rolls
  • Drop dough onto flowered surface and roll out into a rectangle. Don't overthink it though, it can be a pain sometimes but will always turn out good regardless the shape!
  • Brush room temp softened butter all over dough
  • Sprinkle with filling
  • Start to roll the dough to the inside, all the way!
  • Cut 1" sections for the rolls
  • Put on a parchment lined dish
  • Cover with towel and let sit for an additional 2 hours to rise
  • 15 minutes before end rise preheat oven to 375 degrees
  • Bake at 375 degrees for 25 minutes or until golden brown
  • Once baked, remove from heat and cool completely
  • Mix confection sugar and milk together to create a thick consistency
  • Pour icing all over rolls and enjoy!

Notes

  • Be sure to have a very active starter
  • If your house isn't very warm while dough is rising keep it in the sunniest spot, inside your (not turned on) oven. You want the dough to rise as much as possible!
  • I am guilty of not waiting until rolls are totally cooled off before adding icing, but try your best to wait it out!
