Hey Mama!
Are you getting ready to pack your husbands labor bag?! You’ve come to the right place. Let’s chat about what to pack + some helpful tips to prepare for baby!
Before you start packing your husbands labor bag, be sure to always check in with the hospital you are delivering at before arriving! Since we are still dealing with all things Covid-19 each hospitals policies are forever changing. You’ll want to make sure you are up to date with these polices.
Making sure you are prepared but not overpacked is key to feel confident walking into the hospital. If you checked out my post for mamas all about what to actually pack in your maternity bag you know I like to keep it simple!
WHAT TO PACK :
Lets get to the good stuff! What to grab while Packing Your Husbands Labor Bag.
- Change of Clothes– Hubby will for sure what to change into some fresh clean clothes during your stay therefore we suggest the following!
- Sweatpants/ something cozy for bed, sweatshirt, underwear, socks, pants, 2/3 shirts. A casual button down or zipper sweatshirt also is great for easy access during skin to skin. Function over fashion- grab the comfy stuff!
- Snacks– We can’t forget snacks just for dad! Simple and filling is key here. Depending on restricting at your hospital he might not be able to leave to get food. For instance:
- Jerky
- Sandwiches- think non refrigerated unless you know you’ll have access to a fridge
- Bagels- Repacked peanut butter is a great topper to have
- Granola/ Protein Bars
- Prepackaged Crackers
- Dried Fruits/ Nuts
- Trail Mix
- Basic Toiletries– Toothbrush, Toothpaste and Deodorant are a good start, your stay is most likely going to be quick so not much is needed!
- Phone Charger– We suggest a long cord charger, giving you more space to move around. In our post for mamas hospital bag we link a great option, I’ll link that post HERE.
- Cash– If you are allowed to leave your hospital room and want to use the vending machine, cash will be easiest!
- Blanket (Small Pillow Optional)– Hubby will most likely not be sleeping on the most comfortable “bed” therefore we suggest bringing a couple small luxuries to help out. Although you will be provided with a set of sheets and pillow, you won’t regret having something a little soft to remind you of home. Below I linked a blanket and pillow set as a great option.
